About Mama Freebirth

Alexa Rose

Physiological Home Birth Doula

&

HypnoBirth® Educator

I have always been interested in the natural birthing process and caring for mothers and babies. I trained as a doula in 2017 and started attending births at a Birth Center. It was quickly shown to me that the medicalized maternal world was full of flaws. The hospital staff (a Birth Center is the hospital dressed prettier from my experience) focused on diagnoses and saving their license according to state rules adn regulations, treating women as a one-size-fits all. This often went against women's wishes for birth preferences and created emergencies out of thin air.

I quickly left the medicalized doula world and did more training in physiological birth, taking programs like the Radical Birthkeeper School from FBS, and HypnoBirth® Educator training from the original Mongan Method, the actual creator of HypnoBirthing®. This set me up to help women birth in their own power at their own homes.

I don't simply want women to learn what an epidural's side-effects are or that things like vaginal checks and continuous fetal monitoring are not evidence based and lead to poorer outcomes. I want MORE for women. I want MORE for birth! I want them to be excited for birth and find peace and power within it.

That's why I'm here. To help women achieve their dreams of a peaceful labor and harmonious birth. By hiring my services you are taking the first step towards realizing your power, trusting your intuition, and believing in your body and your baby.

Family Life

I live in Fort Collins, CO with my husband Ryan and two kiddos, Fox & Finn. I am devoted to helping women rediscover and trust their bodies outside of the mainstream media and medical system, especially during pregnancy and birth. I am also passionate about creating intentional community, which looks a lot like gathering in circle, hosting local poetry events, hiking together, and more. My husband owns a local farm, Well Fed Farmstead, which is another way we love to give back to our community.

I'd love to meet you for tea and welcome you to the Mama Freebirth community. Please reach out to connect!
